Safetycone
Laser protection cone for integration lasers
Ideal safety solution for integrated laser markers
Integration lasers are generally assigned to laser class 4. This means that extensive protective measures such as enclosures, etc. must be taken into account when integrating them into production lines. Trotec has developed the Safetycone laser protection funnel to reduce effort and costs for integrators, machine builders and production companies while ensuring absolute safety. The patented Safetycone enables laser operation in laser class 1 and therefore the highest possible level of safety in your production environment.
Meaning of the laser classes
Lasers are divided into internationally recognized safety classes based on their power and the associated risk of injury to eyes and skin: Class 1 offers the highest level of safety. Class 4 devices can emit laser radiation. In detail, this means:
Laser Class | Risk assessment / significance | Trotec System |
1 | The accessible laser radiation of this class is harmless - even with prolonged exposure or the laser is enclosed in a radiation-proof housing. | InMarker with Safetycone VIN Marker with Safetycone |
2 | These include visible lasers (e.g. laser pointers under 1mW power), which are only eye-safe for brief exposures of less than 0.25 seconds. | InMarker with Pilotlaser and Safetycone SpeedMarker Series Speedy Series |
3 | In any case, the accessible laser radiation is dangerous to the eye. Pay particular attention to reflections (e.g. from reflective material surfaces). | --- |
4 | This can cause damage to eyes and skin or trigger fires within the laser's danger zone. With this laser class, the user is obliged to strictly adhere to safety regulations! | Integration laser without safety cone |
How the Safetycone works
The laser safety housing of the integration lasers in the InMarker series is realized by the Safetycone. The correct positioning is monitored by several sensors. To actuate the sensors, the workpiece must press against the workpiece seal of the Safetycone; as soon as the (checked and released) marking position is reached, the laser process is released. As part of the laser safety housing, the correct position of the safety cone is monitored by the safety controller. If a sensor signal is lost, the interlock is interrupted immediately

Suitable for:
InMarker
Fiber laser and MOPA for labeling metal and plastics
The powerful industrial laser engravers guarantee precise labeling with short cycle times as part of your production line, robot cell or production facility.
VIN Marker
Fiber laser for deep engravings for rapid inline VIN and PIN marking
These powerful integration lasers offer the perfect solution for the automotive industry. Co-developed, tested and used by household-name car manufacturers.
Applications and areas of use
The Safetycone can be easily integrated with the InMarker series marking lasers without the need to make expensive changes to your production line. This solution eliminates the need for lots of space or for costly housing. Any industrial labelling (DPM / PIN / VIN) can be directly implemented in the line in short cycle times without the need to fix material.
