Laser engraved
Softdrink Glass
Step by step guide
Increase the value of inexpensive drinking glasses by adding designs, names and/or decorations. We used a rotary attachment to add style to a 10 ¼ oz drinking glass (31 cl).
Preparation
Required material
- 10 ¼ oz glass (31 cl)
- Paper towel
- Water
- Sponge
Trotec laser used
- Speedy 300
- 30 watts
- 2 inch lens
Step by step
Step 1
First, take a slightly moist paper towel, preferably use a sponge or a spray bottle for moistening. Place the paper towel on the surface that you wish to engrave later. This will prevent splintering of the glass during the engraving process.
Step 2
Place the rotary engraving attachment into the laser and insert before, switching the laser on. You can now clamp the glass into the rotary attachment and focus on the surface. If you use a conical glass, tilt the rotary attachment until the engraving surface is positioned parallel to the work table.
Step 3
Open the file "BBQ Glass" and send it to the laser. Make sure that the rotary attachment is enabled in the driver and that you have entered the correct diameter of the glass. You can now start the engraving process. We have used the parameters indicated below for engraving the glass:
LASER SETTINGS
Speed: 20 %
Power: 100 %
Resolution: 500 dpi
Step 4
As soon as the engraving is complete, remove the paper from the glass.
