Types of wood for laser processing.

Diverse types of wood vary in characteristics. These countless types available are processed and finished in different ways. There are soft woods such as poplar, hardwoods such as oak. In laser engraving, hard woods yield darker results, while soft woods offer lighter ones. Plywood consists of at least three types of wood fused at an angle of 90°. Therefore, plywood requires careful selection, preferring white-glued or those that have been specially manufactured for laser processing. Medium-density fiberboard (MDF) stands out for its homogeneous texture, ideal for engraving and cutting. For laser cutting, dry, resin-free wood ensures lighter cut edges.
