Softdrink Glass
Step by step guide
Increase the value of an inexpensive drinking glass by adding custom decorations, names or designs. We've used the rotary attachment to add verve to this 10¼ oz drinking glass (31 cl).
Preparation
Required material
- 10 ¼ oz glass (31 cl)
- Paper towel
- Water
- Sponge
Trotec laser used
- Speedy 300
- 30 watts
- 2 inch lens
Step by step
Step 1: Preparation
Slightly moisten a paper towel using a sponge or spray bottle then place the paper towel on the surface you'll be engraving later. This prevents the glass from splintering.
Step 2: Set up the rotary attachment
Put the rotary engraving attachment into your laser engraving machine and atach it properly and turn the laser on. Now clamp the glass into the rotary attachment and focus on the surface. If you're using conical glass, tilt the rotary attachment until the engraving surface is positioned parallel to the work table.
Step 3: Engraving the glass
Download the glass template file (you can get it here) and send it to the laser. Ensure that the rotary attachment is enabled in the driver and that you've entered the correct glass diameter. Now you can start engraving! We've used these parameters for engraving it:
Speed: 20 %
Power: 100 %
Resolution: 500 dpi
Step 4: Finalise your glass Cleaning
As soon as the engraving is complete, remove the paper from the glass, and you're done!
