Step by Step instruction
This Christmas Tree is a show-stopping, eye-catching beauty! Below, you can learn how to make it using your Trotec laser machine and our Trotec materials.
Preparation
You Will Need
- 3 sheets of 3mm TroGlass 1200mm x 600mm
- String / fishing line to hang decorations
(You can use any colour TroGlass you wish, the sky is your only limit! Also, try using the offcuts for decorations!)
Machine Used
- SP500
- 60 Watt
- 3.75" lens
- Slat cutting table / Acrylic cutting grid table
For this sample we recommend using any laser machine from the SP laser cutter series.
Important
Remember: every laser engraving machine is different! You may have to adjust the slots to suit the lens/machine you are using.

Step 1: Import / Create the Design Template
Create your own design or import the template that we have provided. Then, send it to your laser machine using the recommended laser parameters. These settings will vary depending on the laser machine you are using and its available power.

Step 2: Laser Process
Place the material inside your laser machine and cover the rest of the table with paper to improve the vacuum. You will require 6 side parts (2 per sheet) and 4 disks. Remove the protective foil once the cutting is complete.

Step 3: Post-Processing
To assemble your new Christmas tree, you need to friction-fit each section into the disks. Place the largest disk at the base of the tree and work your way up.
Please note: the disk at the very top of the tree is the one with two extra slots for securing your star.

Now, it's time to decorate! You can use your usual Christmas ornaments, or even try decorating it with individually processed TroGlass ornaments. Look at some of the designs we have come up with at the bottom of this page, or even try creating some of your very own - the sky is your only limit!
