Christmas tree with decorations

Decorate your lobby, shop, or home with this unique Christmas tree application this holiday season. (Find engraving materials for this and other applications at: www.engraving-supplies.com.)

Preparation

Required material

3 sheets of 3mm TroGlass 1200mm x 600mm (Pick from any color. Use the remaining material for your decorations)
String or fishing line to hang decorations

Machine used

SP500
60 Watt
3.75" lens
Slat cutting table or Acrylic cutting grid table

For this sample we recommend using any laser machine from the SP laser cutter series.

Remember

Each laser engraving machine is unique, so you may have to adjust the slots to suit the lens you are using.

Step by step

Step 1

Step 1: Import /create design template

Feel free to use your own tree design or import our provided template. Send it to the laser with the recommended laser parameters. Settings can vary depending on the machine used for processing and the available laser power.

Print settings:

Step 2

Step 2: Laser process

Place and position the material onto your laser bed. Proceed to cover the rest of the table to increase the exhaust power. You will need 6 side pieces - 2 on each sheet, and 4 disks. Remove the protective foil after the cutting is complete.

Step 3

Step 3: Post-processing

To assemble your new Christmas tree, friction-fit each section into the discs. The largest disc should be located at the base.

Please not that the disc located at the peak of the tree contains two extra slots to secure the decorative star topper.

Inspiration

Now, it is time to decorate your new creation. Use your own ornaments, or decorate it with individually produced TroGlass ornaments. There is a selection of examples provided at the bottom of the page, but feel free to create you own designs!
