Create a slate planner in order to see all the events and tasks on your weekly calendar.
Preparation
Required material
- 1 slate sheet approx. 15" x 5"
- 1 sheet solid wood oak 23.5" x 11.75"
- 1/4 sheet TroLase ADA Signage black, 0.04" with double-sided adhesive tape
- 1 package (4 pieces) signage mounting devices R20-156-FK
- Cardboard chalk or chalk marker
Machine used
- Speedy 100
- 40 Watt
- 2" lens
- Honeycomb cutting table for wood cutting
For this sample you only can use any laser machine from the Speedy laser engravers series.
Important
Use the extra strong adhesive for the TroLase ADA Signage so that the slate board is securely fixed.
Step by step
Step 1: Slate board
Create your own design or use our template for the weekly planner. Adapt the file to the size of the board you would like.
Next send the job to the laser using the driver settings below.

Step 2: Laser process slate
Choose your parameter seetings for the cuting and engraving. Keep in mind that the settings will vary based on the laser machine and laser power.
Tip:
Test the parameters on the back of the slate board.

Step 3: Wooden frame
Make your own design or import our template. If necessary, adapt the graphic to the size of the slate sheets.

Tip:
Before cutting, measure the thickness of the wooden sheet and adapt the kerf if necessary. Also make sure that the slate sheet fits into the wooden frame.

Step 7: Assembly
First, place the slate board inside the wood frame. Make sure the wooden frame accommodates the slate which will prevent distortion.
Second, glue the TroLase to the slate and wood.
Finally, position the signage mounts, and the weekly planner is finished.
Inspirations
Personalize the weekly planner for your customers. Use different dimensions, shapes and designs.
If you wish, you can use a cord to fix the planner on the wall instead of the signage mounting devices. In this case leave out the two holes on the bottom of the frame.
