Product series
Please note that this sample can be produced on any laser machine from the Speedy flexx laser engraver series.
Step by step
Step 1: Design
Firstly, import our template or feel free to get creative and make your own! Adapt the design to the shape of your chosen watch. Measure the height difference between each material (wrist band, watch face, etc). This figure is required for the z-offset (in our example, there was no height difference). Then, send the job to your laser machine using the following settings:
Process Mode | Resolution | Cut Line | Halftone | Others |
---|---|---|---|---|
Standard | 1000dpi | None | Colour | - |
Tip:
It is much easier to position or adjust your design if you ensure that you send the graphic elements for the housing and the wristband separately. In doing this, you'll be able to position the graphics precisely thanks to the laser pointer.
Step 2: Laser Process
Create the parameter settings. Remember, the parameters can differ depending on the laser machine you are using and its available laser power. Also, whenever you are engraving a flexx job, you need to focus on the metal respective to the material that will be processed with the fiber laser.
Laser Parameters - Annealing:
Colour | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | ppi/Hz |
---|---|---|---|---|
Black | Engraving FLP | 85 | 3 | 30000 |
Passes | Air Assist | Z-Offset | Advanced |
---|---|---|---|
1 | on | +2mm | - |
Laser Parameters - Engraving:
Colour | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | ppi/Hz |
---|---|---|---|---|
Red | Engraving CO2 | 15 | 15 | 1000 |
Passes | Air Assist | Z-Offset | Advanced |
---|---|---|---|
1 | On | - | - |
Step 3: Post-Processing
No post-processing is necessary for this project. Thanks to the annealing process, the metal surface should not have been damaged or dirtied in any way, making the watch ready to wear as it is!
