Leather businesscard holder
Make individual business card holder made out of natural leather.
Preparation
Required material
- Leather (approx. 2 mm thick)
- Adhesive tape
Machine used
- Trotec Speedy 100
- 25 Watt
- 1,5" lens
- honeycomb cutting table
Step by step
Step 1: Import /create design template
Design your business card holder or import one of our three designs into your graphic program and adapt it according to your requirements. The three designs provided differ in terms of shape, folding technique and surface design.
Step 2: Laser process
Send the laser job to the machine.
LASER PARAMETERS:
Engraving (black): power 80 %, speed 50%, 500 dpi, 2 passes, air assist on
Scoring (red): power 20 %, speed 2%, 2000 Hz, 2 passes, air assist on, z-offset 2 mm
Cutting (blue): power 35 %, speed 0,7%, 1000 Hz, air assist on
Cutting (green): power 66 %, speed 1,8%, 1000 Hz, air assist on
TIPP:
Using the z-offset defocuses the laser beam and the cut lines appear thicker than working in focus.
Step 3: Post-processing
As you can see in the graphic, we cut little holes with a diameter of 1 mm along the outer edges in two of the three designs. This allows you to quickly finish the purses. Just use a thicker, tear-resistant thread and start sewing (without having to punch the holes into the leather).
Cleaning:
Leather is a natural product that tends to burn during engraving or cutting and it produces a particular smell. Furthermore, the cutting edges can turn dark and stain. Many types of leather can easily be cleaned. However, it is important to test the cleaning method at a discreet place. First off, try to remove the smoke residues with a dry cloth. should there still be residues, the leather can be cleaned with a damp cloth or with an alcohol-based cleaner.
