Trotec helps Obscenerie's jewellery shine.

Designing and manufacturing jewellery as wearable art.

Obscenerie, a jewelry and accessories company, works with acrylic to make wearable art. Obscenerie jewellerys designs primarily represent nature, language and typography using a range of materials, Anne constantly designs and develops innovative new jewellery. Anne offers her products worldwide through her online store, and is a regular attendee at trade shows around the UK.

Time is money.

Anne found significant productivity and profit gains since working with Trotec. Anne's previous production method of casting jewellery in resin meant that producing multiple versions of the same piece was time-consuming.

The lengthy production process significantly impacted the time it took Anne to get her products to market, each piece had to be photographed and listed as a separate item, something which would frequently take up days worth of time. Innovation is the cornerstone of any creative business; but with so much time spent on production, little time was left for design and creativity. The resin casting method of production limited Anne's output, only producing two products at most per day. It was these time restraints that led Anne to find Trotec, after searching for a better production method.

Scaling up production.

The manual production method was not sustainable as it was delaying the products from getting to market. Anne was keen to find a new solution and began to research lasers that would be backed by technical support. Anne was keen to stay away from cheaper lasers imported overseas, knowing that should the machine need any maintenance, she would have no local support.

Anne booked a personal Trotec demonstration to learn what benefits the machine could bring to Obscenerie. With no time to spare, Anne's laser was installed and she began scaling up her production. Today, Anne makes dozens of necklaces per day, from the initial design to the packaged product.

As a creative business, the ability to take designs and turn them into physical products with a quick turnaround has allowed Anne to showcase her work at exciting art and fashion events. The laser also enables Anne to make custom orders for her valued customers.
