Marble lucky charm
Step by step instruction
Quickly turn small marble stones into lucky charms for any event.
Preparation
Required material
small marble stones (we used a marble mosaic tile and removed them from the mat)
Machine used
- Speedy 360, 100 Watt
- 1.5" lens
- Vacuum table
For this sample you can use any laser machine from the Speedy laser engraver series.
Tip
Use the 1.5" lens if you want to engrave fine details as shown in our graphic
Step by step
Step 1: Import design
Make your own design or import our template. Send the job to the laser using the driver settings below.
Print settings
Process mode | Resolution | Cut line |
---|---|---|
Standard | 1000 dpi | none |
Halftone | Others |
---|---|
Color | - |
TIP:
Due to the detailed graphics we used the highest possible resolution of 1000 dpi for our engraving job.
Step 2: Engraving the marble
First, wash the natural dust off the stone under running water. Once it is dry, position it into your Trotec laser and focus on the surface. If the stone is rounded, focus on the average value of the engraving area. Enter the material parameter settings. The parameters can vary depending on laser machine and available laser power.
LASER PARAMETERS ENGRAVING:
Color | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | ppi/Hz |
---|---|---|---|---|
black | Engrave CO2 | 50 | 20 | 1000 |
Passes | Air Assist | Z-Offset | Advanced |
---|---|---|---|
1 | on | - 0.5 mm | - |
INFO:
We used a negative offset value. Thereby the surface is exposed to more laser power and the engraving shows more contrast.
Step 3: Cleaning
Wipe off the stone with a damp cloth. Don't put it under running water, because this might wash out the engraving dust which ensures the good contrast.
Inspiration
Engrave sayings, slogans or quotes on the stones. Your imagination is the only limit.
Personalize the stones with names or dates to add extra value to your design.
