3D Wall Decoration: Elephant
With just a few cuts you can produce this three-dimensional elephant from TroCraft Eco laser material.
Preparation
Material used
- 1 sheet TroCraft Eco plate thickness 1mm, 600 x 300mm
- Material to cover the working area, such as paper
Two pieces of the elephant's head can be made from one sheet of TroCraft Eco.
Laser engraving machine used
- Speedy 360
- 120 watts
- 1.5" lens
- Aluminium cutting grid table or honeycomb cutting tabletop
This application can easily be created using any other Speedy laser engraving machine.
Step by step
Step 1: Import your design
You can either use our pre-made template or import your own design. The job can then be sent to the laser using the below settings.
Print settings:
Process mode | Resolution | Cut line |
---|---|---|
Standard | 500 dpi | none |
Halftone | Others |
---|---|
Ordered Dithering | optimised geometries, inner geometries first |
Step 2: Laser cutting TroCraft Eco
The next stage is to create the laser parameters. These will differ depending on your laser machine and the available laser power.
Place one sheet of TroCraft Eco into the laser machine. Cover the remaining work area around the material to create a vacuum. You can now start the laser cutting and engraving process.
Laser Parameters:
Colour | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | ppi/Hz |
---|---|---|---|---|
Black | Engrave CO2 | 9 | 50 | 500 ppi |
Red | Cut CO2 | 24 | 2 | 1000 Hz |
Passes | Air Assist | Z-Offset | Direction | Advanced |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | ON | - | top down | High quality |
1 | ON | - | - | - |
Step 3: Assembly
After the laser process, remove the individual parts from the laser machine. The parts are arranged in size or sequence from bottom right to top left.
Take the part of the elephant head without ear cut-outs and insert it at the cut-outs into the two grid elements, in each case into the rearmost slot. Proceed in sequence with all other parts of the elephant head in the same way. The order depends on the size of the individual parts - the smallest element is placed in the front slot.
Finally, turn the elephant head over and push the rectangular plate through the two slots on the back. This fixes the elements and at the same time serves as a suspension eyelet.
TroCraft Eco – the laser material made of recyclable resources
Sustainability and environmentally-friendly materials are becoming increasingly popular in today's market, with many customers preferring materials that are 100% bio-degradable. TroCraft Eco is the perfect material for this, as it is produced without additives and is fully bio-degradable and emission free when laser processed.
