We show you how to make a personalized Christmas tree with simple cardboard.
In the PDF termplate you will find 2 versions:
Our big Christmas tree is about 1 meter high. And the small version can be used as table decoration in any size.
Preparation
Big Christmas Tree
- You will need: 5mm corrugated cardboard
- Trotec laser used: SP500, 200 watts
Small Christmas Tree
- You will need: 2mm corrugated cardboard
- Trotec laser used: Speedy 300, 30 watts, 2.0" lens

Step 1: Big Christmas Tree
We used an SP500 to cut our Christmas tree, along with 1300 x 750mm cardboard. You can always optimise the design of the tree according to your size limitations and personal preferences – the sky is your only limit! Once you've finished processing the cardboard, you simply need to assemble the actual tree. The following guide will show you how to do this.
You can then decorate the tree with classic Christmas baubles and fairy lights - or let the kids go crazy with some paints or crayons!

Step 2: Laser Parameters (Big Tree, 5mm Cardboard)
Laser Settings:
Cutting: Power: 85% - Speed: 2% - Frequency: 1000 Hz - Air-Assist: ON - Z-Offset: -1.5mm
Tip:
The tree can be assembled without any glue or fastenings, so you can even take the tree apart after Christmas and use it again next year!

Step 3: Small Tree
This smaller Christmas tree is made up of only two parts, which are stuck together nice and securely. It's up to you what size you want this tree to be - our pictured tree is 12cm high
Step 4: Laser Parameters (Small Tree, 2mm Cardboard)
Laser Settings:
Engraving: Power: 40% - Speed: 100% - Frequency: 500ppi - Z-Offset: 6mm -Air-Assist: ON
Cutting: Power: 20% - Speed: 1% - Frequency: 1000 Hz - Air-Assist: ON
Tip:
We recommend using the vacuum table alongside the honeycomb tabletop for this particular job.
