Flower Swing Made From Solid Wood

In only a few steps and minimal material you can make this flower swing from solid wood. The ideal present for Mother's Day!

Step by step

Step 1

Step 1: Import design to print and laser

Upload our artwork file and change it to your requirements. Our file is designed for 5mm thick material. For materials of other thickness, make sure to adjust elements accordingly. Send the file to your Trotec Laser with the following settings:

Step 2

Step 2: Laser Process Solid Wood Alder

Place the solid wood sheet into your Trotec laser, cover the exposed working surface to create a vacuum, and engrave and cut out the job. For a more uniform effect, you can also engrave the back of the sheet. To do this, simply remove the cut shapes and place them back in the same position, back side facing up. Now you can repeat the engraving job. Pleae note, the parameters may vary depending on the laser machine used and available laser power:

Step 3

Step 3: Assembly

Assemble the stand by inserting the two parts of the flower stand into one another and then place the circular support plate on top of it. Hang the flower stand from the ceiling with fishing line or string and add your desired plant decoration. You've now finished this simple yet lovely decoration for Mother's Day.

Inspiration

Use different Fullwood or 6mm MDF-Sheets from the Trotec material range for this DIY, as this material is stable and resilient. Be sure to adjust the notches for the connector when selecting MDF.
Combine bright and dark solid wood varieties from the Trotec range to a flower swing.
For a special look, paint the cut parts on both sides before engraving. This will give the design a unique appearance. MDF is the right material choice for this.
