How to Create a Basic Marking Program
SpeedMark Program Basics
SpeedMark marking software has been developed to support automated marking processes and it comes standard with our SpeedMarker galvo laser machines. Common marking tasks are done through the program modules which are provided, making personalization easy and convenient. The software allows users to create unique marking programs using graphical flow control. By using macros, the SpeedMark marking software can be customized and extended, thus enabling the user to adapt the software into existing processes and components.
In this tutorial, we explain how to create a basic SpeedMark program, including the following tasks:
- Line marking
- Ellipse marking
- Outline text marking
- Rectangle marking
- Arc marking
Step-by-Step Video Tutorial
Step 1: Add text to your flowchart
On the left side of screen select the outline text element. Place the cursor in the flow chart and left click to add to flow chart.
Step 2: Adjust “New Graphic” Settings
A “New graphic” screen will pop up once the text is placed on the flow chart. Type in the text, adjust text size, font style etc. Once complete, select "Add” then position the text on the field.
Step 3: Graphic Properties
Select the text. In graphic properties on the right side of the screen, fill the text using your choice of fill style.
Step 4: Basic Elements
Select each Basic element as indicated. Left click and drag onto the main page to create each element. Once it has been completed, each element will show on the flow chart.
Step 5: Adjust Element
Any element can be selected from the flow chart at any time and adjusted. Example shown, the “Ellipse” is selected and the size and location are being adjusted as desired.
Step 6: Material Parameter
Select the text and all other Basic elements. Select “Marking” in the left side of “Graphic properties." Select Material parameter and assign the desired material from the materials database.
Step 7: Position the job
Before starting the marking process, position the work you want to do. Use the pilot laser to outline the position of the mark on the work piece. To start press F9 or use the icon in the menu bar.
Step 8: Start the laser job
In order to start the marking process, press the F12 key or the Execute button in the menu bar. The flow chart shows how the line will process first. After that, the circle is marked, followed by the text and finally the rectangle and the arc. The flow can be adjusted by changing the order of the individual elements.
