Preparation
Required material
- Standard Delrin sheets for engraving and cutting out the embossing plates
- a seal press
- high-quality paper
Used Trotec Laser
- Speedy300
- 60 watts
- 1.5 inch lens
Step by step
Step 1: Cut and engrave the embossing plates
Create your own design for the die plates or use the one we've prepared for you. Then send it to the laser with the parameters below for cutting and engraving. The laser parameters may vary, as they depend on the machine used and the available laser power.
RECOMMENDED PARAMETERS:
Engraving: Black: power 60%, speed 20%, 500 ppi, Air Assist on
Cutting: Red: power 50%, speed 1,0%, frequency 1000 Hz, Air Assist on
Step 2: Glue the plate to the seal press
Take the newly made die plate out of the laser and clean it thoroughly. Simply wash the finished Delrin die plates with water and a little soap or dish liquid and wipe off any still adhering dust with a brush. After gluing the plate to your seal press you can start embossing fine papers.
Alternative: Engrave a text plate for a rubber stamp
You can also use the embossing plate design for engraving a text plate for a rubber stamp. We've made a separate CorelDraw file for this. Make sure to adjust your laser to the parameters below when engraving the rubber text plate.
RECOMMENDED PARAMETERS:
Engraving: Black: power 100%, speed 12%, 600 ppi, Air Assist on
Cutting: Red: power 80%, speed 0,7%, frequency 1000 Hz, Air Assist on
