Laser Cut
a Paper Christmas Card
Surprise your family and friends with your personal Christmas card cut with the laser. All you need for this is paper in two colors.
Preparation
You Will Need
- 2x sheets of Laser Paper
- Glue
Machine Used
- Speedy 300
- 60W
- 1.5" Lens
Step by step
Step 1:
This Christmas card has been made using two sheets of paper. We begin by engraving and cutting the paper intended to be used in the centre of the card, and then we process the outer page. Remember to add your own personal inscription to the card to really give it a unique feel.
Laser Parameters:
Grid Engraving: Power 15%, speed 70%, resolution 500ppi
Vector Cut – Scoring: Power 10%, speed 8%, resolution 1000Hz
Vector Cut – Cutting Through: Power 15%, speed 2%, resolution 1000Hz
Step 2:
Once you have cut both sheets of paper to size, fold the inner piece along its centre folding line so that the engraving is on the inside. After that, open it again and fold it along the other folding lines (marked as red in the file). You should then obtain a three-dimensional, 'pop-out' Christmas tree.
Step 3:
To finish off your DIY project, apply a very thin layer of glue to the backside of the inner paper and glue it to the outer paper. Leave it sitting open, in all its glory, until all the glue is dried. Your beautiful Christmas card is now ready to give to your loved ones.
Merry Christmas from the team at Trotec Australia!
