Table decoration vintage style
See in this DIY sample how you can create a table decoration in vintage style using jute fabric and fusible interfacing.
Preparation
Required material
- Jute fabric by the meter of cut, approx. 40 x 50 cm
- fusible interfacing D24 H200, approx. 35 x 35 cm
- Iron or press
Machine used
- Speedy 360
- 80 watts
- 2" lens
- Nozzle with large diameter
- Vacuum table with honeycomb cutting table
This sample can be produced with any other machine of the Speedy laser engraver series.
Important
Close the throttle valve to maximize the vacuum.
Step by step
Step 1: Jute fabric
Make your design or use our template. Send it to the laser using the following print settings:
Process mode | Resolution | Cut line |
---|---|---|
Standard | 500 dpi | None |
Halftone | Others |
---|---|
Color | Optimized geometries inner geometries first |
Step 2: Laser process jute fabric
Make the parameter settings. Our parameters can differ depending on the machine used and laser power available.
Tip: Iron the jute before engraving. You get better results if the material is very flat.
Color | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | ppi/Hz |
---|---|---|---|---|
Black | Engrave CO2 | 75 | 80 | 500 |
Red (scratching) | Cut CO2 | 13 | 1 | 1000 |
Blue | Cut CO2 | 50 | 1.5 | 1000 |
Color | Passes | Air Assist | Z-Offset | Advanced |
---|---|---|---|---|
Black | 1 | on | 20mm | - |
Red (scratching) | 1 | on | 10mm | 1 |
Blue | 1 | on | - | - |
Step 3: Fusible interfacing
Make your design or use our template. Send it to the laser using the following print settings:
Process mode | Resolution | Cut line |
---|---|---|
Standard | 333 dpi | None |
Halftone | Others |
---|---|
Ordered Dithering | Optimized geometries |
Step 4: Laser process Fusible interfacing
Make the parameter settings. Our parameters can differ depending on the machine used and laser power available.
Tip: Make sure that you engrave on the front of the material (non-sticky).
Color | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | ppi/Hz |
---|---|---|---|---|
Black | Engrave CO2 | 50 | 100 | 500 |
Red | Cut CO2 | 15 | 2 | 1000 |
Color | Passes | Air Assist | Z-Offset | Advanced |
---|---|---|---|---|
Black | 1 | On | - | Optimized quality, correction 15 |
Red | 1 | On | - | - |
Step 5: Finishing
Fix the fusible interfacing on the jute fabric. Use either an iron or a press. Position the lace design on the jute and press or iron it.
Settings:
Iron: Medium heat (level 2), 8 seconds
Press: 130 - 165°C, 8 seconds
Important: Put a piece of fabric on the interfacing before you iron or press it. This prevents the material from eventually stick on the hot surface.
If you want to have your table decoration more country style, you can remove single jute threads and create fringes.
