Easter Egg Decoration
Step by step guide
Preparation
Required material
Plywood 3,5mm thickness, Ribbons in any colour
Laser machine used
- Speedy 400
- 80 watts
- 2.0 inch lens
Step by step
Step 1: Design
We designed an Easter egg with with the German wish "Frohe Ostern" meaning Happy Easter.
You can customise the design file as you like, including adding other sayings or the name of the recipient.
Tip:
If you change the saying, you will want to use a stencil-type font so that the inner circles of the letters do not fall out (As in the letters O, A, eg.). There are many free stencil fonts you can find by searching online. You can also use any font by creating small bridges connecting the inner circles to the outer ones in your chosen graphics program.
Step 2: Laser Settings
Send your design file to the laser. We used an 80 watt Speedy 400 and the following parameters:
Laser Settings
Engraving: Power: 80% - Speed: 100% - Frequency: 500 ppi - Air Assist: ON - Z-Offset: 6
Cutting: Power: 95% - Speed: 1.5% - Frequency: 1000 Hz - Air Assist: ON
Your Easter decoration is complete in just 2 minutes using a Trotec laser machine!
Step 3: Decorate your decoration
After the laser has completed the job, you can attach ribbons to the egg for hanging. Use this and other decorations to create a nice Easter display in your home.
Tips:
- Take care when handling the inner contours of the letters which could fall apart.
- Mask the wood carefully to get the best results. With masking the wood the Air Assist can take away all of the smoke residue which arises when laser cutting and engraving the wood.
- This idea can also be used for other occasions such as Christmas, gift tags, pendants and much more...
