Firmware Update for Laser Machines with Smart Electronics
A necessary firmware update is indicated by a corresponding message. Please be sure to carry this out to ensure the connection between Ruby and your laser device. You need administrator rights for the firmware update. Before you start, make sure that the laser machine is switched on.
Step 1: Login into Ruby account with your super admin or admin credentials.
Step 2: Click on "Settings" and "Firmware"
Step 3: Click on “Next” to proceed.
Step 4: Click on “Disconnect.” Disconnecting the device can take some seconds to finish. Once this is completed you will be directed to the next screen automatically. Click “Next” to continue.
Step 5: Select “Smart-firmware-vx.x.x.swu” from the firmware list, and click “Load New Firmware” to proceed.Important: the version number in the file name changes depending on the release, but make sure to choose the file ending with .swu.
Step 6: Click “Validate.” and “Upload Firmware” in the next screen to proceed.
Step 7: Click “Yes,” to install the new firmware. During the installation which takes about 3 minutes, switch off the machine by setting the key switch to the 0 position. The firmware update in progess is indicated by the red lights on the keyboard of your laser machine. As soon as the update process is complete, the red lights on the display go out and a corresponding message is displayed in Ruby. You can now switch the laser device back on.
