Step by step
Step 1: Prepare Your Design
Create your own design, or download our templates (above) and make any desired adjustments. Our file contains designs for both small (approx. 3" x 4") and large (approx. 4" x 5") models.
Once your artwork is finalized, send the job to the laser using the settings below.
Print Settings
Process mode | Resolution | Cut line |
---|---|---|
Standard | 500 dpi | none |
Halftone | Others |

color | Optimized Geometries, inner geometries first, minimize to job size |
Step 2: Process the Plywood Sheet
Fasten the nozzle with the small hole diameter onto the laser's head, and insert the aluminum cutting grid table into the laser.
Then, place the plywood sheet in your laser, and cover the remaining work area with scrap paper. This will strengthen the laser's vacuum suction force on your material.

Step 3: Cut the TroGlass Sheet
Once the plywood has been processed, remove the materials, nozzle, and cutting table from your laser. Affix the nozzle with the large hole diameter, and insert the acrylic cutting grid table into your laser.
Place the TroGlass sheet on the work table and cover the remaining work area with scrap paper.
Proceed to enter the processing parameters below, and afterwards run the job. As stated in the previous step, the settings may vary depending on your Trotec laser model and wattage.
Tip
If you intend to have identical bunny silhouette cutouts, we recommend flipping one horizontally in your graphic design software or in JobControl®. This will allow for identical cuts on the outward-facing sides of both pieces.
Next, enter the material processing parameters below, and begin laser cutting and engraving. Please note that the optimal settings may vary depending on your Trotec laser model and its available wattage.
Processing Parameters
Color | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | ppi/Hz |
---|---|---|---|---|
Red | Cut CO2 | 95 | 0.8 | 20.000 |
Passes | Air Assist | Z-Offset | Direction | Advanced |
---|---|---|---|---|

Step 4: Assemble the Shelf Sitters
Once laser processing is complete, remove all cutouts from your laser. If there is remaining residue on the cutouts, carefully clean the cut edges with a damp cloth and allow them to air dry.
Apply double-sided tape (or craft glue) to the reverse side of your plywood cutouts. Carefully affix these pieces to both sides of the TroGlass cutout.
Next, depending on your design, attach one or more the circular plywood cutouts to your shelf sitter. In the case of the designs at the bottom of your template, you will require two tails.
