Preparation
Materials
- 1/4 sheet of TroLase Metallic Plus Brushed Stainless Steel/Black (1/8")
- Material to cover the laser's work area (e.g., printing paper)
Trotec Laser and Accessories
NOTE: Any CO2, fibre, or flexx™ laser from the Speedy series can be used for this project.
Tip
Although metallic TroLase materials can be processed with a CO2 laser, we recommend using a fibre laser because it is capable of engraving minute details with greater clarity.
Step by step
Step 1: Configure the Design and Send the File to JobControl®
Create your own design, or use our template (available below) and resize the graphics as needed. Use the following JobControl® Process Options in the Print menu:
Process mode | Resolution | Cut line | Halftone | Others |
---|---|---|---|---|
Standard | 1000 dpi | None | Color | - |
NOTE: If you are using a Speedy flexx/fibre system, ensure to select a 1000 dpi resolution. Combined with the precision of a fibre laser beam, a high design resolution will offer optimal processing results.
Step 2: Process the TroLase Metallic Plus Sheet
Place the TroLase sheet on your laser's work area, and ensure that the material is in focus. Next, enter the parameters specified below in the JobControl® Materials database window.
Process the sheet in the following order:
- Engrave
- "Scratch effect" cut
- Kiss cut
- Cut
NOTE: The exact parameters may vary depending on your laser system and its wattage.
