Trotec Laser Australia is a GS1 Associate Alliance Partner
GS1 Associate Alliance Partner and Project i-TRACE
Since 2022, Trotec Laser Australia is proud to be recognised as a GS1 Australia Associate Alliance Partner and also barcode certified for Project i-TRACE.
Together, this allows us to have a thorough understanding of the GS1 standards and requirements which in turn allows us to work with our customers more effectively. Combined with the knowledge that our machines and software can generate fully compliant barcodes provides customers with a level of assurance that investing in a Trotec laser marking solution will meet GS1 barcoding requirements across a variety of industries.
About GS1 Australia and Project -TRACE
- GS1 Australia is part of a global organisation responsible for the development and administration of a set of standards for business-to-business communication including barcodes for all aspects of industry from point of sale logistics, asset management and traceability.
- GS1 Australia was approached by the Australasian Railway Association to provide a standardised barcoding system for assets and materials used across the rail industry, and the result was Project i-TRACE.
Trotec Marking Solutions
Trotec’s high speed precision galvo SpeedMarker laser marking systems are designed for industrial laser etching and laser marking in both high and low-volume production environments. These systems are capable of producing high-quality compliant 1D and 2D codes and then etching and marking them directly onto many different substrates. This method of identification and traceability creates a permanent and durable mark suitable for harsh environments.
With Trotec’s SpeedMark software barcodes and other relevant data are easily created, arranged and sized and can include dynamic data such as dates and batch numbers. Barcodes can also be imported from most popular barcode creation applications and ERP systems. Material settings are then selected from the onboard database.
Marking can be aligned on the product using Trotec’s Speedmark vision system or the simple border marking option. Marking is executed via a simple keyboard stroke or by the auto sequence button on the machine. Many different substrates can be effectively engraved, etched or annealed to create durable, permanent product traceability.
Automated Material Handling
All Trotec’s galvo lasers use the same high quality components including laser source, optics and software which means the quality and speed of the actual marking process is the same no matter which machine configuration is used. Trotec has a range of material handling options to cater for low, medium and high-volume production as well as large, heavy or hard-to-handle products.
Whether the application requires the marking of individual products using a simple locating jig, multiple products using more complex arrays or integration with a high-volume production line Trotec has a solution.
Automated material handling using integrated equipment such as robots, conveyors and smart cameras adds a level of production capacity capable of achieving the high-volume throughput required by industry. Trotec has a range of customisable options including indexed conveyor infeed, workstation enclosed automated plate change using a SCARA robot and closed cell robot presented marking solutions. Various camera options can also be seamlessly integrated for positioning, marking orientation, vision recognition for data integrity or lookup and barcode verification.
Trotec exhibiting at AusRAIL Plus
Trotec is proud to be exhibiting at the AusRAIL Plus exhibition for the first time. Invited by GS1 Australia, Trotec will display laser marking solutions that meet GS1 global standards and Project i-TRACE.
On display will be the SpeedMarker 700 laser workstation with 3D capability, which will also have a SpeedMark Vision positioning camera and an additional smart camera for barcode data verification.
