Ruby® 2.10 - 29.11.2024
Barcodes, vector editing, multiline text, kerf correction, absolute z-position.
Include codes in dynamic data.
For Speedy, U300
In Ruby®, you can now customize the display of dynamic data. Select from options such as text, QR codes, EAN-13, GS1-128, and DataMatrix codes.
For detailed instructions on processing dynamic data in Ruby®, visit the Help Center.
Searching materials easier.
For Speedy, U300
The new search and filter function in the materials section of the Prepare screen makes finding the correct material faster and more accurate, reducing the chance of errors.
For detailed instructions on how to work with materials in Ruby®, visit the Help Center.
Vector editing.
For Speedy, U300
A brand new node editing function allows you to change paths by adding, removing and editing nodes and curves.. This helps you to optimize vectors for laser cutting.
Remove background of images.
For Speedy, U300
With AI support Ruby® now allows you to remove background from images with just on click. The results depend on the graphic. The higher the contrast between foreground and background, the better the result.
Create multiline text and static codes.
For Speedy, U300
Ensure a consistent style across your texts by applying uniform font, size, color, and line spacing using multiline text options. This allows you to make global adjustments to all text within a container without needing to modify each one individually.
You can also enhance your designs by adding static barcodes such as QR codes, EAN-13, GS1-128, and DataMatrix directly into your layout.
Kerf correction.
For Speedy
For optimum fitting accuracy of cut parts, the kerf correction adjusts selected contours by a defined value. Values between 0.05 and 20 mm | 0.002 and 0.394 inches are possible. Inset an outset can be applied for both filled and unfilled vectors.

Absolute z-positioning via Ruby®.
For Speedy, U300
Ruby® now offers the capability to define an absolute z position, provided it is enabled in the settings. This feature allows you to quickly adjust the focus for commonly used materials without the need for manual focusing. For safety purposes, on-screen confirmation is required to perform this action. When using Ruby® remotely, Operator Mode must be activated to access this functionality.
Visualization of unreachable area with Vision Print&Cut camera.
For Speedy
When using the Vision Print&Cut camera, a small section at the top and left of the working area is unreachable. To ensure accurate positioning, registration marks should not be placed in this area. This unreachable zone is now highlighted on the Prepare screen, simplifying the correct placement of designs.
Improved stamp process.
For Speedy
The stamp production process has been completely redesigned, now allowing users to set default processing options. This means stamp settings can be configured once and applied automatically, eliminating the need to define them for each individual stamp design.
Job History
For Speedy, U300
The new job history feature, accessible through the menu, provides a comprehensive overview of all laser jobs, including details such as name, status, job type, and execution time. You can filter the list by a specific date range and export the data as needed.
Improvements and updates
Image cropping.
For Speedy, U300
A new icon for images now provides a quick and easy way to crop them. Clicking the icon opens a cropping widget, allowing you to crop the image into any rectangular or square shape. All subsequent transformations, such as rotation, are applied to the cropped image. This feature lets you define and select a specific part of an image directly,.
Multiselect snap markers.
For Speedy, U300
Easily update templates with snap markers by selecting and moving them together, maintaining their relative positions, using the Ctrl + Alt + A shortcut. Use the “Set the Precision Steps” icon to define precise movements for resizing, rotating, or moving the markers with the cursor. Additionally, in Operator Mode, you can now move the crosshair and laser head directly using the arrow keys.
Scroll to selected item.
For Speedy, U300
Looking for a specific item in a complex geometry on the Design screen? With Ruby® version 2.10, the software will automatically scroll to the selected item, making it easier for you to make changes.
PDF import of halftone and gradient graphics.
For Speedy, U300
You can now import linear and graphical gradients from PDF and SVG files into Ruby®. Grayscale values define the colors, as transparencies will be ignored.
Tip: Convert grayscale graphics with transparencies into a JPG format for better compatibility.
Easier importing of machine settings.
For Speedy, U300
You can now import local JobControl or SpeedMark settings directly through the Manage screen (not the tray app) when there is no stored yet.
Exporting of backup data.
For Speedy, U300
In the service section, you now have the option to export all Ruby® data into a single compressed file (.tlb). This file will contain all designs, jobs, materials, custom fonts, import profiles, device settings, user settings, and data sources.
When importing these .tlb files, all users will be replaced (except the super admin), and the device settings will be updated. Please note that the job queue will be deleted during this process.
Moving small designs or jobs.
For Speedy, U300
The new "Move" widget makes it easy to grab and move small elements with precision.
Overview of laser machine status.
For Speedy, U300
The new and improved device status on the Manage screen lets you view the current status of your laser machine(s), even when you're working remotely.
Snap designs to marker.
For Speedy, U300
To speed up the positioning of new designs when snap markers are available, they will now automatically align with the first available marker on the Prepare screen. If no snap markers are left, new designs will be positioned as usual: If no canvas element is selected, they will be placed at 0/0; if an element is selected, the design will be positioned to the right of it.
Improved search.
For Speedy, U300
Ruby® now allows you to use previous queries to autocomplete searches across all screens—whether you're working with designs, jobs, materials, or import profiles (note: autocomplete must be enabled in your browser). Additionally, we've introduced a score-based ranking system in the fuzzy search, where the higher the score, the higher the ranking in the results.
