Wooden beard combs

The designer Andrei Bulai, who proudly owns a full beard, has created these fantastic beard combs with Trotec wood. This simple tutorial also includes the graphic file for download and the parameters to be used.

Preparation

Required material
  • 3 mm MDF, available on our webshop
  • Extra material, such as laser paper to cover the rest of the working area
Machine used
Tips
  • Once the material has been placed in the laser machine, cover the remaining work area with one more sheet of paper to ensure sufficient coverage.
  • A 2'' lens is recommended to create a clean, fast cut.

Step by step

Step 1

Step 1: Make design layout

The first step entails downloading the comb template. With different design templates to select from, you may select the size of your choice based on the indivuals beard size. Once you have decided on the design, insert the wood on the work area and cover the remainder with other material.

Step 2

Step 2: Engraving process

Adjust the parameter settings. The right settings can differ depending on the laser machine used and laser power available.

Step 3

Step 3: Post-processing

Once the laser cutting and engraving steps are completed, remove carefully the comb from the rest of the wood, taking precaution not to break the smaller pieces. Using a warm compress cloth, clean the comb and once this is done, the wooden comb is ready!
