Acrylic globe with moving parts
Create a moveable globe as design element or fancy detail for other applications. Below are instructions and template download for your laser.
Preparation
Required material
- 1/4 sheet of TroGlass Metallic in bright silver
Machine used
- Speedy 360 flexx
- 100 Watt with 1.5" lens
- Vaccuum table with acrylic cutting grid
For this sample you only can use any laser machine from the Speedy laser engraver series.
Important
- To keep the kerf as small as possible, we used the 1.5" lens instead of a 2" lens
- Material thickness can vary slightly. Therefore please measure the thickness and adapt the recess if necessary.

Info:
We used the standard parameters for TroGlass optimized for quality.
Step 3: Assembly
To assemble the globe, start with the ring that has four outside notches (1) and put it carefully into the ring with the two inner and two outer notches (2). Then put the ball into the ring that has two long connectors (3). Now put one of the two small rings (4) onto the outer ring (5). Then you insert the preassembled globe into the holder and fix it on the opposite side using the second ring (4). Finally, insert the globe into the stand (6).
