- 1/4 TroLase ADA Signage 3.2mm, white
(Available on our engraving supplies webshop) - Paper to cover the engraving table

- Speedy 360, 80 watts with a 2" lens
- Vacuum table
- Acrylic laser cutting grid
Any Speedy laser engraver can be used to create this sample.
Tips
We used the 2" lens for this sample as the design of the connectors in the graphic file have been adapted for this kerf.
Step by step
Step 1: Import design
To begin design your box or use our pre-made template. Send the file to the laser using the following print settings:
Process mode | Resolution | Cut line |
---|---|---|
Cut Job | 1000 dpi | none |
Halftone | Others |
---|---|
colour | enhanced geometries, inner geometries first |
Tip:
We used makeabox.io to create a box for the base frame of the maze and adapted the file for our ADA material. For TroLase ADA Signage use a value of 0.2 mm into the kerf field.
Step 2: Laser cutting TroLase ADA Signage
Place the acrylic laser cutting grid into your laser machine and cut the outer walls and the bottom out of the black TroLase ADA Signage. For the playing field, we used the white ADA Signage using the same parameters. We scratched the positions of the individual "maze inner walls" as this makes assembly easier post processing.
The parameters used will vary depending on your chosen laser machine and its available laser power.
Laser Parameters
Colour | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | ppi/Hz |
---|---|---|---|---|
Scratching: red | cut CO2 | 10 | 1.5 | 1000 |
Marking letters: blue | cut CO2 | 25 | 1.5 | 1000 |
"Wide" scratching: cyan | cut CO2 | 20 | 1.5 | 1000 |
Cutting: green | cut CO2 | 95 | 0.8 | 1000 |
Passes | Air Assist | Z-Offset | Advanced |
---|---|---|---|
1 | on | 1 mm | - |
1 | on | 2 mm | - |
1 | on | 4 mm | - |
1 | on | -1.6 mm | - |
Tip:
For a clean result leave the protective film on during laser cutting, but remember to take it off your cut pieces post processing!
Step 3: Cleaning and assembly
Once you have finished laser cutting the components, remove the protective foil and clean the surface of the material and a soft cloth. Combine the bottom and one long side together. add the playing field into the laser cut slots and then add one of the short side parts. Add the final two side walls and then position the individual walls into the pre marked holes within the maze. Your marble maze is now ready to be used.
Tip:
Clean the edges with an alcohol-based cleaner or solution to prevent them from losing their colour.
