The engraving result depends on different factors. Both dark and light laser engraving are possible, even with dyed-through paper types. For example, a color change from dark to white can be achieved with a very low power output. A dark, haptic engraving is achieved with a higher power output. With paper types that have two or more layers, the cover layer is removed so that the second color becomes visible.
