Laser-Cut Wooden
Easter Eggcup
We have designed a charming Easter decoration for you: An eggcup made from wood in the shape of an Easter Bunny. The cart is used for holding the egg. We used alder wood for making the eggcup. But it will also work with conventional plywood; ideally use poplar plywood for laser cutting.
Preparation
Required material
- 3 mm alder wood or poplar plywood
- 1 Easter egg
Trotec laser machine used
- Speedy 300
- 60 watts
- 1.5 inch lens
Tips
Using a laser cutting table prevents beam reflections on the back of your material.
Step by step
Step 1: Laser engraving and cutting
Open the Easter Bunny design file (which you can find here) and send it to the laser machine. Choose the following settings for laser engraving and cutting (and remember that depending on your machine, these parameters may differ):
Black (engraving) - power: 25 %, speed: 10 %, frequency: 500 dpi, Air assist on
Red (cutting) - power: 60 %, speed: 1 %, frequency: 1000 Hz, Air assist on, correction: 10
Step 2: Assembling the parts
Once all the parts are cut you can assemble them. To finish your egg cup you can paint it or leave it with a natural wood finish. Follow our detailed but easy-to-understand instructions for assembly.
