Preparation
Materials Required
- Stamp rubber Trodat, AERO+ 5mm, A4
- Stamp Trodat professional 5212, 116 x 70mm
- Paper bags
Stamp rubber is available to purchase from our engraving supplies webshop.
Laser engraving machine used
- Speedy 360
- 120 watts
- 1.5" lens
- Nozzle with small hole diameter
- Aluminium cutting grid table
The stamp rubber can of course also be processed with other laser engravers of the Speedy series.
Step by step
Step 1: Import/create laser file
The first step is to either create your own design or use our free template.
Create your own design or use our free template. A tip for creating your own design: strong, not too detailed motifs and fonts are best. Avoid too fine lines - a lot of material will be removed, too thin lines can become unstable.

Now send the job to the laser with the settings below.
Print settings:
Dimension | Process mode | Resolution | Cut line |
---|---|---|---|
Professional 5212 or user-defined size 116 x 70 mm | Stamp | 500 dpi | optimised |
Halftone | Shoulders | Others |
---|---|---|
black-white | medium | optimised geometries |
Step 2: Laser processing 5mm rubber
Create the laser parameters, which will vary depending on your laser machine and the available laser power.
Insert the laser rubber Aero+ 5 mm into the laser. Make sure that it can no longer slip, as in this process the stamp rubber is vacuumed off after each laser engraving pass. To fixate the material follow these tips:
- Use an extraction system with good extraction performance (Atmos Duo Plus)
- Glue the rubber plate with adhesive tape
- Use an adhesive mat (available from Trotec)
Cover the remaining work surface to create a vacuum
Laser engraving process - four passes:
Set the "Cut" to "Skip" in the parameter settings. Focus and position the laser, then start the first laser engraving pass. After laser engraving, vacuum the dust on the rubber plate with a vacuum cleaner. Make sure that the rubber does not slip. Now repeat the laser engraving process three more times.
Note: focus again before each pass (on the new level) and vacuum the stamp plate after each pass.
Laser cutting process:
After the laser engraving the laser cutting takes place. Activate "Cut CO2"" in the parameter settings and skip "Engrave CO2".
Laser parameters:
Colour | Process | Power (%) | Speed (%) | ppi/Hz |
---|---|---|---|---|
Black | Engrave CO2 | 100 | 15 | 1000 ppi |
Red | Cut CO2 | 100 | 0.5 | 1000 Hz |
Passes | Air assist | Z-offset | Direction | Advanced |
---|---|---|---|---|
1 | on, maximum air assist | - | top down | optimised quality |
1 | on | - | - | - |
Step 3: Assembly
Once the laser processing is completed, remove the rubber from the laser machine and clean with a fine brush and water. Once dry, glue the stamp plate onto a stamp and stamp a few times on kitchen paper. Your stamp is now ready for use.
Inspiration
With this stamp you can individualise your packaging quickly and easily. Your logo can be applied to paper bags, carrier bags, envelopes and cartons to further increase the visibility of your business.
Alternative: depth laser engraving with 3 passes
As an alternative to the above-mentioned settings with four engraving passes, depth engraving can also be carried out in three passes with a resolution of 1,000 dpi, as more material is removed at higher resolutions.
Please note that the time required for this process remains almost identical to the above method, as the laser needs more time for laser engraving with higher resolution.
Perform the laser processes as described above.
Use the following print and parameter settings for the laser process in three laser engraving passes.
Print settings
Dimension | Process mode | Resolution | Cut line |
---|---|---|---|
Professional 5212 or user-defined size 116 x 70 mm | Stamp | 1000 dpi | optimised |

Laser parameters:
