Trotec laser machine for engraving and cutting textiles.
Produce premium fabric designs with the precision of a laser engraver. Experience the haptic effect of laser engraving, offering intricate detailing and textured effects. From intricate felt engravings to elaborate polyester cuts, our laser machines offer limitless design possibilities in textile fabrication. Synthetic fabrics particularly benefit from laser processing, as the controlled melting of the fabric edges prevents fraying. Denim fabric gets a “stonewash" effect, achieved without the need for chemical treatments, as the laser's heat delicately bleaches the fabric.
Types of textiles for laser processing.
The textile industry includes a wide range of materials, including textile based on natural fibers like cotton, denim, genuine leather and textiles based on synthetic fibers such as fleece, softshell and artificial leather. Cotton and denim can be lightened or "faded" with laser engraving. Genuine leather, being a natural material, varies in reaction to laser processing. Those based on synthetic fibers facilitate a wide range of laser applications, including engraving or cutting as the cutting edge can be sealed and is therefore less likely to fray. Fleece offers warmth, while softshell provides water resistance. However, caution is needed with artificial leather, as it often contains PVC compounds that can release harmful gases if lasered.
